BBB (Mooresville, NC profile) carries a formal pattern-of-complaints alert for sales-practice and customer-service issues (promised bill savings that never materialized, activation delays, installation defects, property damage); not BBB accredited. SolarReviews: 2.48/5 stars across 549 reviews, listed 'Out of Business.'

Florida footprint

No documented Florida sales or installs. Per SolarReviews, the company operated in about 15 states (NC, VA, OH, MI, IN, TN, IL, SC, MO, PA, GA, KS, KY, TX, WV); Florida is not among them. Florida relevance is indirect: the same Generac PWRcell/SnapRS equipment was installed in Florida by other companies, and a SnapRS class action was filed in the Middle District of Florida (Haak v. Generac, Oct 2022) by customers who were not Pink Energy customers.

Financing seen on their installs

Five lenders were named in the November 2022 nine-state attorney general letter urging payment suspension for Pink Energy customers: GoodLeap, Solar Mosaic, Sunlight Financial, Dividend Solar Finance, and Cross River Bank (the same five are listed in the Equifax 'Pink Energy Loans' FCRA class settlement).

Reported problems (outside Florida)

Outside Florida: systems that underproduced or never turned on while the loan kept billing, and widespread reports of Generac SnapRS component failures (devices reported to overheat and melt, with at least three house fires and a ~50% failure rate alleged in litigation). With the company liquidated, its own workmanship warranty has no one left to honor it. Pink Energy itself sued Generac before the bankruptcy, blaming the parts.

“But the lender already paid Pink Energy / Power Home Solar — aren't I stuck?”

That is a question only a Florida attorney can answer for your loan. Here is what the rules and the records say in general:

1. The FTC Holder Rule notice. Many consumer loan contracts that finance a sale carry the notice the FTC requires, which states that the holder of the loan is subject to the claims and defenses the buyer could raise against the seller, with recovery capped at the amount paid. Whether it reaches a particular loan is a question for a Florida attorney.
2. The funding paperwork. Solar lenders usually release money to the installer on a completion certificate, often e-signed on a tablet. The certificate's date, and whether the system had a final inspection and permission to operate by then, are in the records.
3. Florida and federal consumer rules. FDUTPA (Florida's deceptive and unfair trade practices statute) and TILA (federal truth-in-lending disclosure rules) set out what sellers and lenders must disclose and may not do. Whether either reaches a particular sale or loan is a question for a Florida attorney.
